THRIVE is about you and providing you with resources to help you make informed decisions about your HIV combination therapy.
Knowledge about HIV has come a long way over the last decade. There is now a lot more information about the virus, how to treat it and how to check if treatment is working.
From one drug being available in the 1990s, there are now over twenty drugs available. There are now four groups (or classes) of drugs available to treat HIV – and more are being developed.
Whether you are living with HIV or supporting someone who is living with HIV, THRIVE is here to help you access and obtain up-to-date treatment information that will help you make informed decisions that you and your doctor feel are right for you.
THRIVE is open to anyone with HIV – whether
newly diagnosed1
or living with HIV for a number of years. Wherever you are
support groups3 are there to help you.
THRIVE has been developed in partnership with the medical community, patients and patient organisations – all of whom want to ensure that you get the support you need to make the right decisions for you.

Having been HIV positive for over 15 years I believe it is critical to have an ongoing health maintenance and monitoring relationship with your GP and other health services. Over the years I have changed medications, been part of trials and even chosen to have a monitored drug break (not recommended these days). HIV and HIV medications can affect each of us differently so in my opinion it’s really important to talk about your health and your medication. You may not be on treatments yet or you may be dealing with unpleasant side effects from your current regimen. There are more drugs available than ever, dosing is more sophisticated and regimens simpler. In a nutshell, you needn’t suffer in silence. Have a chat and see what your options are, it might just give you a better quality of life!
